Tasks:   



  • Develop a low cost lancet device to be included in a glucose monitor kit

  • Goal is to minimize the number of components without sacrificing premium lancet device functions such as adjustable depth selection and features intended to minimize pain


 


 



Unique Features/Challenges:



  • Developed unique design which has at least two fewer components than all competing lancet devices, resulting in a substantially lower cost product

  • Achieved goal of lower cost without sacrificing premium lancet features such as adjustable depth and features which minimize pain

  • Delivered stylish ergonomic product which stands apart from lancet devices which are typically plain without much consideration for ergonomics
