Point of Care Diagnostic Platform

Tasks:   



  • Develop a series of cartridges for various diagnostic test to be performed using a modular instrument

  • Develop method to transfer contents of blood collection tube to the cartridge without removing the cap 




Unique Features/Challenges:



  • Developed method to dry reagents into a channel and rehydrate the reagent during the test protocol

  • Developed method which allows the user to plug in a blood collection tube, which permits the instrument to transfer whole blood out of the tube and into the cartridge for analysis

  • Cartridge protocols required us to develop unique methods to meter precise volumes, split samples equally, rehydrate reagents, static mixers, active mixing, normally open/close valuve and imaging.

  • Developed method to separate plasma from whole blood
